Week 1 Wrap Up: Bikini Body

Weigh In
131.8 (down 2 lbs since Day 1)

Measurements
Bust: 35.5" (down .25")
Waist: 28.5" (down . 25")
Navel: 31" (down .75")
Hips: 38" (down . 25")
Thighs: 22.5 (down . 50")
Upper arm: 11 (same)
Calf: 13.75" (up .25")

Overall, that is a loss of 1.75 inches in just over a week. This is fantastic and I need to remember that my efforts are not going unnoticed even if I make a poor diet choice here and there. My good efforts far outweigh the negative ones.

Workout
Goal: 6 hours
Total: 11 1/2
Met goal and exceeded by 5 1/2 hours (Woo hoo!)

Water
Goal: 21 quarts
Total: 25 quarts
Met goal and exceeded by 4 quarts (Woo hoo!)

Greens

Goal: 14 servings
Total: 9 1/2 servings
Did not meet goal, short by 5 1/2 servings. This is probably why I ate things I shouldn't. It is hard to eat junk when you are full on greens. Plus they squelch my cravings since they are feeding my body the nutrients I need. Therefore I am not "starving" for nourishment. I didn't take any kelp for my thyroid either. I will make a stronger effort this upcoming week.

Sauna
Goal: 1 hour 20 min
Total: 2 1/2 hours
Met goal, exceeded by 1 hour 10 min. This is actually just an extra goal, it wasn't top priority, but I am glad I did it. My skin looks better & smells cleaner as a result.

Fasting Blood Sugar
89 (perfectly normal)

Blood Pressure
81/51 LOW! I have always had low blood pressure, but I have been noticing a decrease over the years. However, this almost seems too low. I measured my blood pressure about an hour after doing vigorous exercise and 25 minutes in the sauna. I am not too sure if that contributed to the low number. According to Wikipedia my reading classifies as "hypotension". When I read some of the symptoms I have to admit that I am cold. However, that may be due to my low body temperature from dealing with hypothyroidism. Aside from that I do not experience any other symptoms. Perhaps this was an inaccurate reading. I took it at a local drug store that carried a machine that self operates. Who knows. The best way to find out is to keep taking readings
and see what happens.

Pulse
64

PH
slightly acidic

Week 2 Goal
My goal is to incorporate more yoga, begin a purification program, & go high greens.

Lori,

You are doing great. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be the best you can be. Our nation has become so twisted in it's views. It's gotten so wrapped around weight (which if you're as overweight as I was starting out, that's easy to do), but most people have forgotten that the ultimate goal should be overall health.

You are doing this to fit into a bikini, yes. But what I'm thinking a lot of people aren't realizing, is that you KNOW the biggest picture is overall health. :)

Rawk on Lori, you can do this girl! Aim for the stars! (At worst, you'll catch the moon.)

Love and light to you girl!

Jordan: thanks for your support and enthusiasm. :)

Sunshine: I am so glad you see what I am talking about! :)

Sarah: I am so excited to see how it all turns out on 80/10/10. I will be getting the book soon! Congrats on one year! Any tips that really help?

Kristen: OMG!!! I am so happy for you! A purification program and down 10 lbs? You aren't messing around! Woo hoo!

Anjana: yes, I work out 6 days a week. I get in at least 90 mins.

Loulou: the blog wouldn't come up! Can you send the link again?

I have just a couple of tips, first read the book ;) After that, make sure you eat at least 1 lb of greens every day and get plenty of fruit calories early in the day so that you don't have massive cravings at night. This is the only diet I've ever been on and not had a problem with cravings, but I make sure that I get my fruit calories in earlier in the day. Most people who struggle with cravings are either skipping the greens or not eating enough calories.

I am curious to know what entails your purification program, I keep seeing you mention it and I'm not sure if I missed it but I'm wondering what it involves.

Great job this week! You've inspired me to write down all my goals and follow through, it's so much easier to stay on track when you keep yourself accountable.

Lori, I dont know, but I might increase my sodium intake just a tad? Your blood pressure is dangerously low. Other than that, you go girl!

Hello, greetings from Argentine!!!!
I have an acount on google but In didn't decide yet to post...
I wante to say to you that you inspired me to be a better green person, here in the land of "great meat" It has very hard for me to become a vegetarian, more for the beleave of people that you will be become ill ... anyways This year I want to loose weight. And is very hard for me because I never can eat right at work (even the salades have eggs or cheese) so I do not eat and then at home I eat every thing or I eat bread... Can you help me hoaw can I make some launh to take at work??? As I work in a big hotel I do not have a neither refrigerator nor microwaves so I do not know what to make me as lunch and I have no place near to eat food... well I would love some help. H my east goal year is to lose 25 kilograms more or less the equivalent to 50 pounds. I wish you a very appy new year!!!!!!! Big kiss Julieta

Sarah: I need the book for sure! It's on the way. I am making green smoothies and massaged greens daily, so I am already headed in the right direction!

Anon: My purification program is a mix of a few. I drink lots of green lemonade or fresh green veggie juice for 2 weeks. No solids, but I will do a colon cleanse (herbs, bentonite clay, etc) and a liver cleanse (lots of beet greens, lemon, dandelion, milk thistle, etc).I haven't started yet, I am working into it.

Toni: I considered the same thing, but I actually have lots of sodium in my diet already! I am hoping it was a bad reading. I will take more tests.

Annette: Thanks for checking out my blog. I am glad it gave you a kick in the pants and spurred you to want to improve yourself! When I first changed my diet, I had to stop thinking of "normal" meals. I would pack a ton of water, lots of fruit: apples, bananas, oranges (things that don't need to be chilled and can be eaten just as they are). I also made lots of veggies cut up like: cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, carrots, etc and I would make a guacamole dip for them. I would try to get as full on those as possible . That is where I started and I have evolved from there. Just try to eat fruit or veggies ever 2 hours or so. Don't let yourself get too hungry or you'll wind up eating junk. Stuff yourself with the good stuff! :)

Lori! Awesome job! We both started almost at the same time. I made a post about my fitness journey on my http://rawfoodtip.com. I somehow feel that most raw foodist are allergic to fitness/weight lifting, and they usually choose yoga ( some power yoga), which is great, but we need to build muscles as well;-).
I lost 1.5 pounds in a week. We all rock!

Hi! I found your blog through we like it raw. I'm a 24 year old graduate student/former collegiate athlete diagnosed with RSD, a progressive neurological disease. I used to run 60 miles a week and now I can barely stand up for more than a few minutes at a time. I am trying to heal myself through raw foods, juices, and alternative medicine. I hope you will check out my blog, and I would adore any advice that you may have for me since you are so well learned in this area.

I think you are gorgeous right now but you should do whatever makes you feel your best. Good luck in your journey! I will be reading!
